Chemical Compositions of Walnut (Juglans Spp.) Oil: Combined Effects of Genetic and Climatic Factors

Walnut oil is a high-value product. Investigation of the variation and main climatic factors affecting oil’s chemical composition vital for breeding quality improvement. Therefore, fatty acid, micronutrients, secondary metabolites compositions contents in walnut were determined three species: Juglans regia L. (common walnut), J. sigillata Dode (iron their hybrids (Juglans × L.), which cultivated aat different sites. The major acids linoleic (51.39–63.12%), oleic (18.40–33.56%), linolenic acid (6.52–11.69%). High acids, was found between both species Interestingly, myristic, margaric, margaroleic only detected hybrids’ oil, yet α-tocopherol common iron oil. Climatic significantly affected content whereas δ-tocopherol mostly dependent on genetic factors. average relative humidity explained most metabolites, showed significant positive negative effect monounsaturated polyunsaturated respectively. These findings contribute to provision better guidance matching sites with trees, improvement nutritional value
